Fantastic views, friendly owners, delicious and filling breakfasts. The rooms on the third floor, at the very top of the house, are quite small and are quite obviously an after-thought. But you are made aware of this before you book these particular rooms. The house is within walking distance of Barmouth, if you don't mind walking approx 35 mins: a short distance along the main road, a steep hill, and the majority along the promenade. This is cycleable too, giving relatively easy access to the Mawddach cycle trail. Alternatively there is the train. Guests have shared use of the outside patio seating area and an indoor lounge. Both have a wonderful view of the bay. The owners provide fresh milk every day, and seem quite happy to bend-over-backwards to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.

This was my surprise destination which my Hubby arranged. The owners, Kate and Rob, couldn’t do enough for us. Had to spend one of the days in our room and they ensured we had extra coffee and milk to cover the day. And it was fresh milk rather than UHT which was a pleasant surprise. We stayed in the Garden Room. If you have a dog, this is where you can stay. The room, or should I say rooms, are well appointed. King size bed in the bedroom and a sofa in the living room. The bathroom is small however it was perfect for what was required. There was even a ledge to sit on which made showering much easier for me as I am disabled. Outside, there is a patio with chairs, table and parasol and the views from there are amazing. I’ve never been to this part of Wales before and I’m definitely coming back. Breakfast was plentiful and very tasty. There was cereal, fruit, yogurt and juice. You had a choice of coffee or tea and a full English breakfast if you wanted that. I had scrambled eggs and they are the best I’ve ever had. I was even able to have some toast as the bread was suitable for my dietary needs. The House is well situated, with Barmouth a 2 minute drive away. If you go during the school holidays, it does get busy. You have the sea to the West and the Snowdonia National Park to the East so there is plenty to do and see. Would I go back? Yes. Would I recommend Morwendon to friends and family? Yes. Was it worth the money? Absolutely.
